Segrelles intended to project his internationally work and he got in London. The watercolor technique in this stage of Segrelles is in the limits of magic. A good example is the visit of John Howe to Albaida´s House Museum in 2009, which was to begin a fruitful relationship with JJ Soler has gelled in the foreword he has written for the impeccable edition of the Valencian Institute of the Albaida´s Valley (IEVA). It is a very interesting relationship, because Howe is the author of the storyboard drawings pre-planning with the filming of the movie- the trilogy 'The Lord of the Rings', and that he previously had illustrated J.R.Tolkien books. Two papers are just one example of his career as an illustrator and show that Howe is one of the most renowned professionals in their discipline. Well, John Howe consider the work of Segrelles admirableand in the prologue he details what he likes most of the Albaidans illustrator with great sensitivity, and what they have in common, as well as the feelings he experienced at the Museum House in Albaida.
Howe also encourages the dissemination of the Segrelles work and puts his bit talking about the book JJ Soler at his website. But the spreading of the albaidans´s book does not end here. The own Howe has made the storyboard for the film 'The Hobbit', directed by Guillermo del Toro and one of the photos in this report can be viewed as the director of 'Pan's Labyrinth' already has a copy of the publication in his hands. Rounded to the anecdotes, the image of 'Faun' was inspired by an illustration of that gathering Segrelles book.
In totality, the publication has a hundred illustrations of Segrelles, namely 20 and 30 years of the twentieth century with which he announced the United States and Europe.
In his first weeks in bookstores, and the Library House and in Ontinyent –the orange cover with the image of 'Metropolis' draw the attention to somebody. His presentation took place to Olleria city within the framework of the III Congress for the Study of the IEVA, but there are other events planned. The next will be on Saturday, the 24 of April , at the headquarters of the Musical Union “Spider” of Albaida, at 19.30 hours, in the programming of the Rose Festival.
While the involvement of personalities from the cinema gives projection to the new publication about Segrelles, the language of the spell book, the philologist and ethnographer, Sergi Gómez, highlighted in the presentation in Olleria city the importance of presenting the work of the Albaidan also insite the region: "worry about our heritage human and creative ceiling sometimes just for the powerful and superhuman strength of the simple determination of very few people that are saving the furniture and we still do not appreciate, and just appreciate the moves”.
In the case of Segrelles this effort rests largely on their relatives to be involved so that the figure and work of the illustrator had the disclosure and the recognition it deserves. On this occasion, Fernando Tormo, highlights publications Segrelles in 'The Illustrated London News', which was the first participation of the artistic Albaida abroad "and that would give more importance to the painter," explains the book.
Pages, deliciously maquetades by Reme Tomás, make for a review in illustrations as evocative as "Don Quixote" by Cervantes, 'The Arabian Nights' tales of Edgar Allan Poe and interpretations of Wagner's music, to cite someone, that invites the reader to get lost in them.

Un libro de J.J. Soler divulga su obra internacional el año de su 125 aniversario
Segrelles tenía la intención de proyectar su trabajo internacionalmente y lo logró en Londres.
“La técnica con la acuarela de esta etapa de Segrelles está en los límites de lo mágico”.
Los trabajos del ilustrador albaidense, José Segrelles, continúan influyendo en la actualidad en los artistas plásticos. De este hecho y de la proyección internacional del artista habla el libro "José Segrelles Ilustrador Universal", obra del especialista Joan Josep Soler. Un trabajo publicado el año que se cumple el 125 aniversario de su nacimiento y que pone de manifiesto como lo obra de Segrelles continúa estando vigente.
Buena muestra es la visita de John Howe a la Casa Museo del albaidense en 2009, en la qué se entabló una relación fructífera con J.J. Soler y que ha cuajado en el prólogo que ha escrito para la impecable edición en valenciano de l’Institut d’Estudis de la Vall d’Albaida (IEVA). Se trata de una relación muy interesante, porque Howe es el autor del story board -la planificación con dibujos previa al rodaje de una película- de la trilogía ‘El Señor de los Anillos' y previamente había ilustrado los libros de J.R. Tolkien. Dos trabajos que son sólo un ejemplo de su trayectoria como ilustrador y que ponen de manifiesto el porqué Howe es uno de los profesionales con más renombre dentro su disciplina. Pues bien, John Howe considera el trabajo de Segrelles admirable y en el prólogo detalla qué es aquello que más le gusta del ilustrador albaidense, con gran sensibilidad, y qué es aquello que tienen en común, así como las sensaciones que experimentó al visitar la Casa Museo en Albaida.
Además Howe anima a la divulgación de lo obra de Segrelles y pone su granito de arena hablando del libro de J.J. Soler en su página web. Pero la divulgación del libro del albaidense no se acaba aquí. El propio Howe ha hecho el story board para la película ‘El Hobbit', dirigida por el realizador Guillermo del Toro (en fase de rodaje) y en una de las fotografías de este reportaje se puede ver como el director de ‘El Laberinto del fauno' ya tiene un ejemplar de la publicación en sus manos. Por redondear las anécdotas, la imagen del ‘fauno' está inspirada en una de las ilustraciones de Segrelles recogida en este libro.
En total, la publicación tiene un centenar de ilustraciones de Segrelles, concretamente de los años 20 y 30 del siglo XX con las que se dio a conocer en Estados Unidos y en Europa.
En sus primeras semanas en las librerías -en Ontinyent la Librería y Casa Joaquinet- la portada con la imagen anaranjada de ‘Metrópolis' sirve de reclamo. Su presentación tuvo lugar en l’Ollería, en el marco del III Congreso de Estudios del IEVA, pero ya hay previstas otras citas. La próxima será el sábado 24 de abril, en la sede de la Unión Musical la Araña de Albaida, a las 19,30 horas, dentro de la programación de la Festa de la Rosa.
Si bien la vinculación de personalidades del cine le da proyección a la nueva publicación sobre Segrelles, el corrector lingüístico del libro, el filólogo y etnógrafo, Sergi Gómez, destacaba en la presentación de l’Ollería la importancia de dar a conocer la obra del albaidense también dentro de la comarca: “Preocupémonos de nuestro patrimonio humano y creativo sostenido a veces sólo por la fuerza potentísima y sobrehumana de la sencilla voluntad de muy poca gente que nos está salvando los muebles y nosotros aún no lo agradecemos, y a la que sólo le mueve el aprecio y el cariño”.
En el caso de Segrelles este esfuerzo descansa en gran parte en sus familiares que se han implicado para que la figura y la obra del ilustrador, tenga la divulgación y el reconocimiento que merece. En esta ocasión, Fernando Tormo, pone de relieve las publicaciones de Segrelles en ‘The Illustrated London News', que fue la primera participación artística del albaidense en el extranjero “y la que más relevancia daría al pintor”, explica en el libro.
Las páginas, deliciosamente maquetadas por Reme Tomás, hacen un repaso por ilustraciones tan evocadoras como ‘El Quijote' de Cervantes, ‘Las mil y una noches', relatos de Edgar Allan Poe e interpretaciones de la música de Wagner, por citar algunas de ellas, que invitan al lector a perderse en ellas.
